About ProtectEM
ProtectEM GmbH was a university spin-off founded in 2013 from the Technische Hochschule Deggendorf (THD), co-founded by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Fröhlich and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Grzemba. The company specialized in embedded security consulting, engineering, and training for industrial and critical infrastructure systems.
With deep roots in academic research and decades of combined industry experience in automation, automotive electronics, and communication systems, ProtectEM provided holistic security solutions — from executive seminars and penetration testing to custom embedded hardware and software development.
In 2025, the operational business was transferred to TG Alpha GmbH, a joint venture co-founded by ProtectEM GmbH, which carries on the mission and expertise.
